When & Where?

King Arthur is thought to have been from the 5th to 6th century AD. The exact dates are unknown and so is the exact location in which Camelot was located. All that is known about the location of Camelot was that it was somewhere in Britain. It is said to have been hard to get into Camelot and that there was a huge moat that surrounded the city. It was a heavily fortified city and access was very strict and limited with exception to those with magic who would often find their way into the wall but were generally flushed out by Merlin. It is known that Arthur came into power at the age of fifteen however his age during his death is unknown as is the time frame in which he ruled Camelot.

Who?

Arthur was the son of Uther and Ygraine Pendragon, King and Queen of Camelot in the 5th Century AD. Arthur did not live with his parents as a child due to a deal that Uther made with Merlin stating that any child that Ygraine and Uther conceive will be given to Merlin in return for a spell to make Ygraine to fall in love with Uther. After the deaths of the king and queen, Camelot had no true ruler only eleven local kings. Anybody who thought themselves worthy fought for the title of King. Eventually Arthur came to be the King and he ruled Camelot for many years with the magical sword Excalibur and Scabbard that protected him during battle. Whether or not High King Arthur was real is still unknown.

The Legend

There were a fair few legend that surrounded king Arthur, each of them having fluctuations in the details however there are recurring facts such as the Sword and the Stone. Merlin supposedly put a sword in the stone and left an inscription in the stone stating that the person who pulls the sword from the stone will be the true King of Camelot. The other legend that is based around Arthur is that he never lost a battle due to his gifts from the Lady of the Lake. The gifts were Excalibur, a sword that never failed to kill enemies, and a scabbard which the sword was put in that protected Arthur from being hurt himself.
