Impact

King Arthur was a very influential monarch during his time, to the people he could almost be seen as a hero or saviour. When camelot was falling into chaos King Arthur was like a beacon of light that came from nowhere, someone who could pull the sword from the stone and was therefore the true High King of Camelot. Considering the fact that Uther Pendragon, the previous King of Camelot up until his demise, had given Arthur up to Merlin in return for a spell to make Lady Ygraine fall in love with Uther. Merlin gave Arthur to Sir Ector, a good knight who took Arthur in and used him as a servant but Merlin made Sir Ector think of him as a result of a night of unfaithfulness.

Considering the fact that Arthur had very humble beginnings and couldn’t read or write up until Merlin came and tutored him, Arthur was a kind, just and thoughtful king who did what was best for the people. King Arthur was renowned for being a great fighter, someone who never lost a fight. What people didn’t know was that this was due to his sword Excalibur and the scabbard in which it was held. King Arthur fought many battles always protecting his people from the Saxons that would constantly try to invade and also proving that the throne was rightfully his through his fights with the eleven local kings who originally did not approve of Arthur taking place as High King.

King Arthur had such a great impact on his people that his story is still told today, King Arthur supposedly live in the 5th - 6th centuries AD and it is now the 21st century. King Arthur was a great leader who influenced his time so greatly that his story was passed down for generations and he lived on through legends. Some people believe that King Arthur never truly died and instead he lays dormant waiting for a time in which Britain will need his protection yet again.
